Five Friday Favourites

Happy Friday! Can you believe that Christmas is in less than two months?! I will actually be posting my Christmas Gift Guide in the next couple of weeks because I figure a lot of people will be doing online shopping this year and also if it was up to me I would start decorating for Christmas in November

These past two weeks have been rather busy despite me hoping for a bit of a break. Last week I went to Megan's work to surprise her as she was getting awarded a certificate for being at her workplace for 5 years and then last Thursday I met a friend for San Churros (despite me meant to be taking a break from chocolate oops!). I then had a cousin's wedding on last Saturday which was lovely but it seemed like everyone in the wedding party had to give a speech which meant we didn't get home until 11.30pm. Then on the Sunday I had church, as there was a members meeting happening after the service and as I had skipped the past few (or more) I felt I should go despite being half asleep. I'm the youngest member in the church (excluding the youth pastor) and if it wasn't for my dad being the associate pastor at one stage I don't think I would be one. It's actually interesting to see the inner workings of the church and being able to get a say in important things happening. It really reminded me why I call my church home and the work that the church is doing which we don't always see.

The start of this week was relatively quiet, except for the fact that on Monday I applied for a job and within 2 hours I had an interview for said job on Wednesday. It was only a first round interview but I think I did ok and I am praying that I get through to the next round. It's for a student support services position at a training place in the city and it's what I want to do. It's a mix of administration and community services work and seems like it would be a great place to work. I should find out if I have advanced to the next round next week sometime. Then when I was checking my phone after the interview (expecting it to be a couple of Facebook group chat notifications) and I had a missed call and a voice mail asking that I return the call and it was regarding another job I had applied for a couple of weeks ago. So I have an interview this coming Wednesday morning for the position. I wanted to laugh at God's sense of humour because after the job knockback which really shook my confidence I wasn't sure where he was leading me but clearly he is still at work.

I saw my doctor this week after 3 weeks of not seeing him which is the longest I have gone without seeing him since the start of the year. This was due to him being away last week when I should've seen him. I still find it hard to believe that this is my new normal of seeing my doctor every couple of weeks, but this is my life. I am still keeping a detailed food/activity/dizziness diary and one thing I have noticed is that my dizziness gets worse when I am at the gym. I probably should've noticed this sooner but honestly I am only now just getting in a regular gym habit and going twice a week consistently. I have already had heart tests but neither of them were seeing my heart under any kind of stress so I am wondering if the dizziness is related to my heart. He asked me if I had any idea of what it could be and when I gave him a blank look he then said right that's my job to figure out haha! So my doctor is going to do some research over the next couple of weeks and see what he can find.

Onto Friday Favourites...

Havaianas Slim Pets Green Dew - I decided to treat myself to some new Havaianas this Summer and I of course went with cat ones :) I find Havaianas last a really long time and they're perfect for the beach and pool.

Leshea Mini Llama with Bow - I couldn't resist this cute Christmas llama when I saw it at Bed Bath N Table, I just love how soft it is and it looks really cute. Also if you're after any new Christmas decorations Bed Bath N Table always have such a cute range.

Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter - this is the final book in the Bluebell Inn series and a great end to a

great series. I was provided a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. The blurb reads:

When a mysterious man turns up at Grace’s family-run inn, it’s instant attraction. But she’s already got a lot on her plate: running the Bluebell Inn, getting Blue Ridge Outfitters off the ground, and coping with a childhood event she’d thought was long past.

A gunshot wound has resurrected the past for secret service agent Wyatt Jennings, and a mandatory leave of absence lands him in Bluebell, North Carolina. There he must try and come to grips with the crisis that altered his life forever.

Grace needs experience for her new outfitters business, so when Wyatt needs a mountain guide, she’s more than happy to step up to the plate. As their journey progresses, Grace soon has an elusive Wyatt opening up, and Wyatt is unwittingly drawn to Grace’s fresh outlook and sense of humor.

There’s no doubt the two have formed a special bond, but will Wyatt’s secrets bring Grace’s world crashing down? Or will those secrets end up healing them both?

I loved Grace's story and how it was about her finding her voice and figuring out her own path. Wyatt had me intrigued from the moment he was introduced and there's more than meets the eye regarding his story as you soon find out. I loved seeing all the connections play out and found the book had a good pace and wrapped up a lot of questions you had from the previous books. I always love reading Denise's new books and this one did not disappoint.

Dollar Sweets 100s & 1000s - for the month of November 10 cents from each pack of Dollar Sweets 100s & 1000s will go towards ReachOut. So if you're a baker like me I highly recommend stocking up and supporting an amazing cause.

Emily Pleat Front Top - I have this top in both prints and I really love it, while the colours are paler than I would normally wear the prints are really nice and perfect for Summer.
