Book Review: The Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale

Ok so currently I am meant to be taking it easy which means no running around or walking much cause of the toe situation so I have decided to do a book review which I haven't done for alooooong time :)

The Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale (Bloomsbury Publishing PLC)
Genre: Fantasy but with a bit of romance and adventure thrown in.
Age targeted at: My sister who is (almost) 13 loves it and so did my mum and me (aged almost 17), but I think as young as a 10 year old would so it. So ages 10 years plus.
This is a great read, its written in a fairytale manner but different. A princess is locked in a tower with her mucker (forrest person) maid for 7 years as she refuses to marry whom her father chose for her (kinda extreme when you think about it). The tower has no light so they have no way of telling whether it is day or not, then one day a prince comes and promises that he will break them out of the tower which of course doesn't happen, mean while the princess orders her maid to pretend to be her, which means the prince thinks the maid is the princess and of course they fall in love, even though they can't be together. The book has quite a few twists and turns and doesn't end quite like you would think it should. Once you start this book you cannot put it down! I rate this 5 stars ***** out of 5 *****
