Christmas is coming!

Christmas is coming! I love christmas I mean who doesn't?! I love how the house feels so christmassy and how the tree draws u into it! How it gives me an excuse to buy presents for people and how the christmas cards are all so beautiful!

To many christmas is a time of santa, red, green, gold, white and silver, family gatherings and headaches! But what is it really about?

To me it is about celebrating the fact that on christmas day (or around it as no one can be sure) that a saviour was born! In our house we have a few navity scenes one from peru when my dad went their and couldn't go past it! One I made from clay a few years ago that mum treasures and a few from various sunday school projects (that we do not display cos other wise the house would be packed!) and this year a chocolate countdown calender with the navity scene on it! So in our house Jesus is the reason for the season!
Merry Christmas!

Ok so I've really neglected my blog and I am very sorry about it!!! Ok so lately I have been thinking about friendships (that and saving money another story which I will tell u about when I have done it) I mean we all need them but sometimes they say or do things which upset or hurt us with out relising it! I mean I have a friend (but for resons I will not use her name) lets call Mia (sorry to all the mias out there!) who I have known since year 5 when I started at my new primary school we immeadiatly became best friends and in year six we started to go to youthgroup togeather and every friday night we were there it was 'our thing' we continued to go there every week right up until recently then it was just me, my friend Andrew and Sarah (yes they got sucked in too!) sharing the car ride there and back I don't know why Mia stopped comming but Mia had always loved basketball and she played it when ever she could but friday nights were still our time then in year 8 she got sick with anorexia I felt like I had lost my best friend not just physicly but mentally too she withdrew into herself and at that time she lost interest in going ye she still went but she withdrew and wasn't there in spirit.

I guess it just went downhill from there she went from being a christian and loving to spend time with god to almost the complete opposite. Then in year 10 she was allowed to play basket ball and she got offered a place in the WABL (west australian basket ball league) that happened to train on friday nights let me tell you even before that she made excuses about not coming. Now the basket ball season has ended and she facebooked me with a letter saying how she didn't want to go to youthgroup any more and didn't have the time for it I mean seriously year 12's come to youthgroup who are doing TEE and they still make time to go!!!

I know I shouldn't be worked up about this but how come I feel that this is wrecking my Friendship with Mia . . . . .
Please pray for her :-)

Paper rounds!

Like many other teens I find it hard to exercise but since doing a paper round i have found that it is easier and i am generally quite fit now and have even lost a few kilos! Many people turn their noses up me because of my job but compared to them I look and even feel great! I would hate to work at kfc of macca because of all the oil and greese but this way I am out side for about and hour twice a week and plus folding it takes me ,my sister and my mum (My sister gets paid) abou 2 hours each round so a total of 4 hours a week for up to $70 (depends on the size/amount of brochures) which is better than most jobs!

I love having my own money and so does my sister so far I have bought and Ipod Shuffle, cds, and lots of smiggle stationry! and my sister had bought a DS and games for it. Currently we are both saving up for the perth royal show which we can't wait for!

I think the type of job we have shouldn't be judged or added to our appearances just a bit of a 'shadow'.

What is raceism?

What is Raceism? I mean is it teasing someone because of their race? or putting them down beacuse they have a disability or a family member disability? Or even teasing them because of their religion.

Raceism is often thought as a single thing but often it means more than one. I have recently been putting up with the last two types. And I have been think that it is Raceism. But this leads me onto another thing bullying.

I have recently been bullied by a few people most of them I thought that they were my friends. I hate been bullyied but this is 10 times worse as I thought that we were friends. After reading a few things I have decided not be friends with them. I mean it was hard but it is worth it as now they won't be able to hurt me as much. Bullying is always wrong so why is put down after raceism? Why doesn't the government put an anti bullying program in schools? I don't know but something should be done before its to late . . .

Happy Birthday Granddad

Today would've been my Granddad's 75th birthday but unfortunatly he passed away a few years ago from prostate cancer a shock to every one. It felt strange to be in a resturaunt celebrating my Mum's, Auntie Lea's and a family friend's birthday with out him there yes we had fun ( who wouldn't it was Sizzlers for Godness Sakes!) but I'm sure my Mum and Grandma kept thinking about him as did I.

My Granddad died when I was about 10 we had recently moved up here and we know now that it was a 'god thing' ( I like the way it sounds) that my Dad was offered the job around the time my Grandad was dignosed. My Mum helps my Grandma do things that would be too hard/confusing for her to do alone and my Dad helps her with the gardening/pruning ect and keeping of her house. We all help out though at times it is hard to arrange things around our life style but we do what we can to help her out. We were all close to my Granddad (our family proboly the closest seeing as my Dad didn't have any family over here they were always called if we needed help ie looking after me and my sisters ect) and when he died no matter how much we had prepared for it still came as a shock to us and his funeral was well attended ( he was the head of the Baptist union before he was dignosed with cancer) it was a sad time and our house looked and smelt like a flower shop!

You haven't lived till you've . . .

You haven't lived till you've . . . cried your self to sleep.
You haven't lived till you've . . . had a feline/canine friend lick your tears when you know they like the taste of the salt but you still think they are comorting you.
You haven't lived till you've . . . laughed so hard that your stomach hurts for days.
You haven't lived till you've . . . walked home in the rain and gotten drenched but you didn't care as it was an adventure.
You haven't lived till you've . . . stayed up half the night talking to a close friend about life.
You haven't lived till you've . . . called up a friend in tears and it didn't matter how far away you were from each other.
You haven't lived till you've . . . made a mess of a fairly simple cooking recipe.
You haven't lived till you've . . . had to choose a new pet out of a range of animals ie cats , dogs ect.
You haven't lived till you've . . . vistited an animal shelter to pick out a new friend and know they were perfect in every way.
You haven't lived till you've . . . cried sooo hard because you lost your pet and no matter what you say they weren't just an animal and never will be they were a friend and family member.
You haven't lived till you've . . .

Best Friends

Every one has many friends I mean I'm sure I do! The thing is we consider many of these Friends aquaintenses (bad spelling I know!) but it is only in our time of need when we need them that we realise that they are our friends.

We also have Best Friends a term given to the friends that we are close to. I have a few people who I consider these: Gemma- I've know her for about 14 years and we have continued to keep in touch (gotta love the phone and facebook!)regardless that we are 2 hours apart! Rebekah-I've known her since I was born and only now as we are in our teens we have realised how close we are in fact she is the twin sister I've never had! Theres also Meg and Sarah- my primary school friends who I've kept in touch with. I have many more that these seem to be the ones always on my mind.

Then we have good friends, friends who we see often but don't know every thing about us I could be here all day if I were to list the main ones!

So whats the difference between a friend, a good friend and a best friend to me it is on a level of trust friends are people who don't know my secrets, good friends are people who know a few things about me and best friends know EVERY THING about and me and I mean EVERY THING!!!

Dress ups

Lately I have been thinking that we each have different clothes that we like to wear. But sometimes these clothes can reflect our feelings. For example when I wear my blue and white dress I feel ready for anything and confident or when I wear my trackpants and big white jumper I feel tired and sometimes (mostly) unwell. I also find that when I wear my jeans, black shoes, and blue jumper I just feel 'me'. What ever I wear reflects my mood or helps me get into a mood. I remeber at our year 7 dinner dance / end of year dinner I wore a pink slik halter neck, black skirt and bronze thongs and I felt dressed up but whan I go there I realised that some of my close friends were way more dressed up than me and also there was only me and few other girls who wore flat shoes ( most wore high heels which I hope to buy some for my year 10 formal this year) but it didn't matter and as I discovered there were others girls in the same situation and as I look back on photos I see that I was happy and confident then and that what I wore reflected my mood. I got asked to dance by a boy! That to me was an achivement on its self! I still own the top and skirt and shoes and I know that they will be passed onto my sisters and as I will watch my sister Megan graduate this year in her white dress and shoes I know she will be a princess in my eyes and hers!

Ok these past few days have been really hard on me and I wish I had paid more atention to the fact that gods in charge. It started with the fact that someone ( I have my suspects) decieded it would be very funny to put sushi in my bag that they made in cooking. Now I was upset about this but even more so when my ( so called) friend Stevie said 'oh it couldn't be hard to find the culprit seeing as half the school hates you' I really wanted to slap her in face but my consionce told me other wise I managed to hold in my anger and my hurt until after school ( It was the 2nd last period of the day when all this happened) then I broke down I told Mum and Dad and they were really annoyed at both of these problems more so at the latter.

They suggested that I find a better friend to hang out with and I agreed Stevie just wasn't my type and it was time to let it go.

So this morning I tried to let it all go but I just burst into tears in the middle of form. I managed to get through the morning with the help of a variety of nice girls ( THANK YOU!) I was then introduced to a new girl called Lizzie she and me hit it off imeadiatly and I know we will be best friends! I then realised that GOD is really in charge he knew what was going to happen and I wish I had realised sooner! So when your feeling stressed . . . . .

just a thought

Ok today I was sitting in sience trying to pay attention to the teacher ( c'mon it was pysics) but a thought popped into my mind that in Jesus's time if abortions were around could Mary have chosen to have an abortion? or more like be forced into having an aborton this is such a strange thought and it puzzles me to ponder if Jesus was born in in the 21st centuary would that happen?

I don't how this though popped into my mind but it did maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am reading the Aronement child by Francine rivers about a girl who was raped and chose to keep the child against her Dad's wishes ( her Mum and Grandma were really confused by it all) but what ever the reason it makes sense to me now that one of the reasons Jesus was born ages ago was to stop Joeseph and Mary getting temped to have an abortion.

As many of you know that I am agaist abortion 1000% ! and I hope that never changes!

At My school we have many 'groups' in every year these groups are pretty much the same but different though they vary in years 11 and 12. The groups are

  • 'The popular group' to get into this group you have to have all the latest 'cool' gadgets and fashions and go shopping most weekends and get invited to all the 'cool' parties. Though it is considered ok to bitch about your besties behind their backs and be utter snobs to every one else how they became popular I do not know. It is also considered a crime if you talk to any one lower than you and to them it is considered ' a sport' to be bitchy to any one lower than you (this includes wrecking their work ).

  • Next you have the 'almost popular' these are people that do not get invited to every party nor have every latest gadget. They are friends with all the 'popular group' as well as some of the 'lower groups' and if not friends they are nice to them.

  • Next is the 'middle group or popular wannabe's' these are people that try to get in the above 2 but often with little or no sucess. They are friends with most people and try to get along with every one but often with little sucess they move through all the 5 groups freely and really have no actual place in 'the groups'.

  • Next to last is the 'go with flow group' this is kinda like the 'middle group' but try to stick/stay seperate from every one else they talk freely around with all the people and can be either friends or enimies depending on the day. Most be aknowledge them.

  • Finally you have the 'loner or no friends group' this is a very rare group and often changes on a daily base. These people do not talk to any one nor try and be friendly to any one. Most of the groups find it hard to talk to these people.

so where do I fit in? Well I like to think I fit in the 'go with the flow' group. As you have noticed these groups break down the three groups in priamary school:

  • the popular group

  • the middle group

  • and the unpopular group.

these groups will always change but they always come down to these groups. But if there is one thing most people want to know it is why we have them? Well who knows I sure don't it just makes life a whole lot more complicated!

Today is ANZAC day a time where we remember those who fought and died for us in the war. I have two relatives who both fought in the war one on the australian side and the other on the german side! They are both my great grandparents and it is strange to think that they proboly fought against each other in the war. So today I decided to make an ANZAC day cake to remember them by. I have tried to make anzac biscuts before and they just never seemed to turn out! Ok so maybe I forgot the sugar or added to much golden syrup! But they always seemed to be a disaster! So I went and found a recipe for one ( for the recipe click this link and it turned out well! So now it is sitting on the bench just waiting to be eaten for lunch! But how ever you celebrate ANZAC day rember those who fought for us and take a closer look all these men who died so young are now in historys book ( thanks to Meg for that part of her poem).

least we forget!

We all have dreams that we want to achive or things we want to do. I know I do but sometimes these dreams can be crushed by a range of things but sometimes we can still achive these dreams we just don't know it yet. For example I knew a girl who lost her leg in a car accident she wanted to be a school teacher and for a moment there she thought she could not she now goes to murdoch uni and is studying to be a teacher something many are sure she will do.

Each year many are dignosed with cancer some suffer through it and resume somewhat 'normal' lives where as others do not survive. My Grandfather was one of those people who did not survive it he lived his life the best he could even going around australia with my Grandma when he for a short period time was in remission they had a great time and I think during the 'final days' he and my Grandma looked back on them.

I think we value those days with our loved ones who are suffering of cancer. But what we don;t know is that our days are numbered too some of us could die in a number of days or hours and very un expectedly. Only god knows how long we live.

My first post !

To be honest I don't know why I have started this blog. I mean for once I have no idea what so ever!

I am a pastors daughter and have grown up in the lord. I love working with the little kids in creche at church and one day hope to use this talent for the lord. I have got 2 beautiful cats called Maddy and Tom both from the cat haven. I enjoy doing craft and art.

I feel strongly against many issues here are some:

  • Abortion every person has a right to live and shouldn't adoption be a better issue?!

  • Cyber Bullying and any kind of bullying should NOT happen to any one I have seen first hand of what this can do!

  • Animal cruelty of any kind both my cats were picked up as strays and Maddy was really in injured she has now become a perfect pet for our family.

  • People making fun of people with disalbilties I have a sister who has downssyndrome and I hate it when people stare at her and us. I know no different and to me its just normal with her around its not her fault either.

  • I am sure there are many more which I will be sure to add in future posts!
