Eyes

I saw someone today, someone who I hadn't seen in over year. I don't know if he saw me but when I saw him even from a distance it was clear that something was missing from his life, his eyes had lost the shine they had had when I last saw him.

I saw you today, I don't know if you noticed

 or if I was just one of the many faces 

that blurred past you

Your eyes were empty and you didn't look 

quite like yourself,

like a piece of you was missing

When I saw you the past came back

but with it peace 

I am glad I saw you

as your eyes gave me a glance into your world

and I could see that even though you act 

like everything is fine

something is missing from it.

Because your eyes never lie.
